Funky Town

Congratulations on two awesome performances at the school concert. You all looked great and performed wonderfully.

Thanks to Lee for her fantastic costumes and to her daughter and my other helpers who applied face paint and dressed the children. The help was greatly appreciated.

Grandparents Day

On Friday the 13th we were very lucky to have lots of our wondeful grandparents spend the morning at school with us.
We began with a school assembly where some lucky people were given the ultimate bridge to sucess. After a cup of tea and some lovely baking the grandparents came and visited our classes. Some of our grandparents looked at our work and books, others made playdough models with us. Some grandparents even played target ball, hopscotch and elastics.
Before lunch the whole school went out to play house games on the field. We had so much fun.
We really enjoyed spending time showing our grandparents around and hope they enjoyed it too.

We got into groups and decided what the target should look like and where it should go.
What do you think?????

Discovery time

We spent an action packed morning learning new things. We made chipaties, (rice bread), bread rolls and hairy heads. The hairy heads were lots of fun. We made them out of stockings, cotton wool and grass seed.

Kung Fu is my favourite movie. Mummy, Daddy and I wathced Kung Fu on Saturday night. My favourite movie made me giggle a little bit. So we all snuggled up on the sofa and watched it. Dad smiled at the funny parts and some of the silly parts too. Mummy was making us smile by doing a silly dance.

We will plant the garden on Thursday.

Abigail's night with Harry

Today Harry came home with me. First before we came home we went to the petrol station and I made Harry sit on the roof of the car. When I put Harry on the roof I made him slide down the curved bit. When we were going home Harry sat on the back of the seat. We had fun. We went to my Nana's house because my Aunty Amy wanted to show Mum the Halloween costume. My Mum took a picture of Harry and I in my bed, on my skateboard, and Harry drawing on a piece of paper with one of my Mummy's good pen's.

Making Piklets

We had a yummy discovery day today. We made piklets. We had to follow the recipe and then double the mixture to make enough for everyone.

We had to use an electric mixer and an electric fry pan in the class to cook them.
Other children made snow globes today with a jar, water, glitter, food colouring and some things to put inside.

We also played with the playdough, cars and farm animals.
Liam took the photos today.

In the 6 year old girls Shontel came second and Alyssa third.

Terrys Power bot.

In the holidays I made a power bots thing. It was a robot. At first my mum and I did not know where the switch was but then mum found it. The robot looks funny when it goes. The hardest thing about it was when the arms had to go on the chasy.

Abigails day off !

On Wednesday I helped my Dad. Me and Dad went to NDA to take these things that go on the bottom of big tankers. After we went to Eltham and I got a chocolate and vanilla ice-cream, but I didn't eat all of it because I can't eat while I am travelling. So my Dad ate the reast of it. We were in my Dad's blue truck and I sat in the front because there is no back seats.

Ronald McDonald visit

This morning Ronald McDonald came to visit the junior syndicate.

Ronald McDonald talked to us about road safety.

We need to remember to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN!!!!
It is essential to wear a helmet when we are biking.

When you are going out in the car you need to MAKE IT CLICK!

When we are walking we need to stay on the house side of the footpath and watch for hidden driveways.

Discovery Day - 21 August

Today Janna came to help out with discovery day. Some of us made play dough with her. It was lots of fun, we had to follow a recipe and work together to measure the ingredients.
Caleb, Ethan and Casen spent lots of time co-operating to get the railway built. They even found some boxes from last week and used them to create tunnels and sheds for the trains.
Some of us learnt how to skip in a big rope. We had to get our timing right or the rope hurt when it hit you. Tyler and Jahleea couldn't skip at the start of discovery but were superstars by the time they finished.
We also used the lego, the felt stories and worked on reading eggs on the computers.
Wonder what discovery next week will be?????
